Dave, I saw you at Paul Genesse’s panel at Steamfest. I didn’t know you were an author, although I had seen you at the filk panel at LTUE.

I’m going to buy your book as soon as it comes out on paper (I don’t have a Kindle and don’t consider my smartphone adequate for long-form reading), although I would prefer an audiobook. Any plans for the latter?

    • David says:

Hi, Lee! Paperback should be out around September. The first three installments of my other serial, Rock Band Fights Evil, are available in paperback now in a collection called Rock Band Fights Evil Volume One (you can find it on Amazon). It’s not steampunk, though — it’s a series of action-horror adventure stories about damned men, fighting for their souls with semi-automatics and rock and roll. Think Larry Correia, or Jim Butcher.

I’d love to do audiobooks, but I don’t know much about how to do them. Any advice as to what services I should look at?

      • Lee says:

As I haven’t finished a book in any format, I’d be the wrong one to ask how to go about doing an audiobook. There’s a lot of advice out there, but I can’t say what’s good advice and what’s bad. There are several Utah speculative fiction authors who do have audiobooks out (e.g. Larry Correia, Dan Wells), if you have any contacts with any of them.
